Obama at the Easter Prayer Breakfast

At today's annual Easter Prayer Breakfast, President Barack Obama said some things I approve of.

The one I liked the most was: "We are here today to celebrate that glorious overcoming, the sacrifice of a risen savior who died so that we might live."

I never believed the president was much of a theologian. Google his comments on Christianity and you will see that. But what he says here is good theology and the main tenant of Christianity.

Jesus did sacrifice Himself so we may have life. I think President Obama understands that life is eternal life. I don't agree with the president on much, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.

We should not only remember that during holy Week, but everyday.

What Jesus did was amazing. He paid the penalty for our sins, a debt we could never pay on our own.

He became out sin so we could know eternal life. I know the president didn't break it down like that, but maybe he understands what Jesus did and truly believes. I pray that President Obama knows Jesus truly as his savior and if he doesn't the Holy Spirit moves him to.

I pray that for everyone.

Just as I read about the breakfast on the Christian Post Website and was felling pretty good about the president, Vice President Joe Biden had to open his mouth and  talk about "tolerance and sacrifice."

I believe what the vice president meant by tolerance was "just accept what the government is shoving down your throat" and by sacrifice he meant "pay more taxes."

Maybe I am reading too much into Vice President Biden's comments, but he has never let the opportunity to push his agenda pass.

My little rant aside, please pray for the president and vice president. Jesus commanded us to do so.
