Palm Sunday and the victory of Christ

Today is Palm Sunday the beginning of Holy Week, which ends with Good Friday, the day Jesus was crucified and Resurrection Sunday, or Easter.

Palm Sunday represents when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey and received praise. A few short days later and those same people wanted Him dead, but that just shows how the human mind works and how sinful we truly are.

This week gets more difficult for me each year as I learn reflect on the crucifixion of Jesus. When I was a kid, I loved the Easter season because it meant candy, coloring eggs and time off from school.

Now I think of this time as a time to reflect on the Crucifixion and what it really means. It means everything. Without Jesus and His work on the Cross, we would be sentenced to eternal separation from God.

When I think about Palm Sunday now, I like to envision Jesus victoriously riding into Jerusalem. Because days later, Jesus claimed victory over death and in doing so, He gave us the opportunity at eternal life.

Take this time to reflect as well.
